The ISC is expanding and we are on the look out for fresh, experienced talent, who will be able to fit and work within our existing multi-national EU based based team.

Reporting to both the Commercial and Educational Directors, we are interested to hear from industry experienced analysts and analytical science instructors whom can contribute to the growth of the school - through teaching using our standardised training material, as well as contributing new material and ideas to our expanding educational program.

Flexible Part-time LC/LC-MS Course Training Instructors - European & world-wide travel

We are interested to hear from qualified and experienced LC/LC-MS analysts who either already have experience in analytical science education, or are interested to commence a career in education, to deliver our open format and on-site courses to analysts and laboratories worldwide, working on a flexible part-time as is required basis.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent in a relevant scientific subject (2:1 or above)
  • Masters or PhD Degree qualified in a relevant scientific subject
  • Applicants must be resident within the EU for at least the last 3 years and not require a visa or have any restrictions for travel to foreign countries
  • Applicants must be either of native English mother tongue, or else demonstrate excellent command of both written and spoken technical and business English
  • Fluency in any foreign languages in both spoken and written format is a plus
  • Experience or a demonstrated passion for teaching is critical to the post
  • Willingness to travel worldwide on as is needed basis
  • Dedicated to coaching analysts of all abilities

Core experience

  • Minimum of 5-10 years laboratory experience in HPLC and LC-MS in varied sample analysis in any of the following laboratory sectors: R&D, drug discovery, quality assurance and safety testing, high-throughput screening, clinical research, toxicology, metabolomics, environmental, academia, food, beverage and other analytical areas where LC/LC-MS is employed.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate good experience in any of the following techniques:
    -Sample preparation techniques
    -High-throughput methodologies
    -MS interpretation and fragmentation
    -Method development & troubleshooting
    -other relevant techniques
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of any of the following LC/LC-MS instruments and their software:
    -Agilent
    -Dionex
    -Thermo Fisher Scientific
    -Perkin Elmer
    -Bruker
    -formerly Varian (LC/LC-MS systems now owned by Agilent)
  • Any additional experience in LC/LC-MS and LC/LC-MS instrumentation– as indicated in the above job post is also a strong advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to teach confidently, and prepare new course content using Microsoft Powerpoint

  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate good experience in any of the following techniques:
    -SPME
    -pyrolysis
    -GC headspace
    -Large volume injection
    -High-throughput methodologies
    -MS interpretation and fragmentation
    -Method development & troubleshooting
    -other relevant techniques
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of any of the following GC/GC-MS instruments and their software:
    -Agilent 6890 or 7890/MSD systems
    -Thermo Fisher Scientific
    -Perkin Elmer
    -Bruker
    -formerly Varian (GC/GC-MS systems now owned by Bruker)
  • Any additional experience in LC/LC-MS and LC/LC-MS instrumentation– as indicated in the above job post is also a strong advantage
