On-site Practical Training Courses

Science Lab

The ISC offers a wide range of practical LC/LC-MS and GC/GC-MS courses on-site at laboratories internationally. Courses are usually prepared as a tailored course reflecting the instrument set-up, the techniques being used, and the samples being processed.

We normally combine modules from our scheduled courses, together with modules from our instrument operation courses, integrating experiments to demonstrate and put into practice the key points.

A useful set-up for a practical training course can be morning session situated in a classroom / meeting room learning about the techniques and how to apply the theory, followed by daily afternoon sessions in the laboratory performing experiments.

We teach on a wide variety of instruments, techniques and applications and so we are able to offer a complete program. Group size is limited depending on facilities available which of course includes instrument access. Instruments will of course need to be installed, and in good working order for such courses.

All courses and training manuals are presented in English language as standard but we can also teach and present manuals in French or Spanish - as long as the audience are all speaking the requested language.

If you would like either further information on one of our non-scheduled courses or a quotation , please contact Caroline Green at cgreen@amoebasciences.eu.

On-Site Classroom Training Courses

The ISC can also offer our scheduled classroom based courses at customer on-site facilities (e.g in an on-site meeting room/board room/lecture theatre). Ideal for where larger groups of delegates (4+) require training. An on-site training course often works out more cost-effective than sending delegates to a scheduled course, due to reduction in travel expenses.

Managers and supervisors can select from any of our existing scheduled courses according to the training requirements of their groups. View all scheduled courses here

Alternatively, one may prefer for either training needs or cost purposes to have a customised training course – further details are given under customised training courses.

Customised Training Courses

Science Lab

The ISC prepares and delivers customised training programs for companies and institutions across the globe.

Customised training courses are useful where there is an ongoing requirement for basic training or continuing professional development needs within organisations.

We develop training courses combining any of our existing modules from any of our existing courses, for a specific number of days to a limited group size, in any location (except for countries where embargoes are in operation).

Courses can be held at a central facility, or across multiple sites, on weekdays and we also offer the possibility of training during weekends. Typical customers include oil and gas companies, environmental laboratories and research institutions across the Middle East, Asia and Europe.

Training courses can be tailor made to individual requirements, or we can propose a schedule that will meet the needs of the participants. In putting together custom course schedules, we take into account existing levels of knowledge and experience, number of delegates participating, topics and depth of coverage needed and local language requirements.

All courses and training manuals are presented in English language as standard but we can also teach and present manuals in French or Spanish - as long as the audience are all speaking the requested language.

CPD Training

The ISC offers training to both analysts and non-analysts working in institutions, companies and in analytical science supply companies.

Finance and purchasing managers, as well as key decision makers can attend our courses such as how to purchase an analytical instrument, or good analytical laboratory design.

We regularly have service engineers from instrument manufacturers and instrument service organisations attend our scheduled GC/GC-MS and LC/LC-MS courses.

In addition, we train sales , marketing and technical support personnel working for both instrument and consumable manufacturers, distributors, channel partners and associated companies and organisations.

The ISC is the first organisation is the world to develop and award delegates attending our courses an optional qualification based on an invigilized self-assessment (available from 2012 onwards – further details and terms and conditions to follow).

If you would like either further information on one of our non-scheduled courses or a quotation , or further details on how our courses can help meet your CPD needs, please contact Caroline Green at cgreen@amoebasciences.eu.

Course Schedule

Our courses run from 9 am to 4-5 pm each day. Please note that we do not provide a specific schedule for each course, but we do indicate in the description what you can expect to learn each day in terms of topics.

Naturally, depending on the speed of teaching, the class size and also the number of questions asked, the schedule varies slightly each day from course to course. But the course will be fully completed within the time frames indicated.

Course Hours & Flights Home

Once each class has arrived on site, the course hours can be slightly modified (within reason) to accommodate the class needs (e.g desire to finish slightly earlier on the last day for travel purposes).

For this reason we advise that only late evening flights are booked to travel to your home country as you must also factor in commuter and road traffic to the airport, as well as have sufficient check in time for your flights home.
